This option allows the user to specify the function of the Multi-Purpose Output signals on the BMS (some models support up to 4 Multi Purpose Outputs whereas other models only support 1).
Note: These output signals are open drain outputs and can sink up to 175 mA of current.
Available Functions:
Error Signal Output: The line is active when an error code is present and inactive when no codes are set.
CANBUS Controlled Output: The line is controlled remotely via a programmable CANBUS message (the CANBUS message must be flagged as a receive message and the byte type of "MPO State' is used--a value of 1 on this byte turns the MPO on and a value of 0 turns it off).
Low SOC Output: The line is active when the pack State of Charge (SOC) drops below the programmed activate percentage. The output will remain active until the SOC goes back above the programmed deactivate percentage.
Low Temperature Output: The line is active when the lowest pack temperature drops below the programmed activate value (Celsius). The output will remain active until the lowest temperature goes back above the programmed deactivate value (Celsius).
Charge Interlock Output: The line is active when both CHARGE Power and READY Power are energized to +12v at the same time. This can be useful for determining if a vehicle is plugged in and turned on (attempting to drive away while plugged in). The output turns back off when either CHARGE or READY power is lost.
High Cell Voltage Output: The line is active when the highest cell voltage rises above the programmed activate voltage. The output will remain active until the highest cell voltage drops back below the programmed deactivate voltage.
Low Cell Voltage Output: The line is active when the lowest cell voltage drops below the programmed activate voltage. The output will remain active until the lowest cell voltage rises above the programmed deactivate voltage.
Low DCL Output: The line is active when the Discharge Current Limit (DCL) drops below the programmed activate current limit (Amps). The output will remain active until the DCL rises back above the programmed deactivate current limit (Amps).
Low CCL Output: The line is active when the Charge Current Limit (CCL) drops below the programmed activate current limit (Amps). The output will remain active until the CCL rises back above the programmed deactivate current limit (Amps).
Contactor Enable Output: The line is active as long as there are no critical fault codes present. Critical fault codes are defined by the following: P0A06 / P0A07 (a charge / discharge enforcement fault is detected), P0AC0 (a problem with the current sensor is detected), and P0A04 / P0AFA / P0A01 / P0A03 (a critical voltage sensing fault is detected). If multiple units are connected in series (Master / Slave) then a multi-unit communication failure will also trigger this condition. The output will re-engage once these fault codes are cleared. Other non-critical faults (such as thermistor fault, high voltage isolation fault, etc) will NOT cause this output to turn off.
Isolation Fault Output: This output will reflect the status of the High Voltage Isolation Fault condition (P0AA6).
Idle Amps Timeout Output: When in this mode, the output will remain active (ON) as long as the BMS detects at least a certain amount of current activity within the battery pack (EITHER charging OR discharging). The timeout period (in minutes) and the idle amps threshold (in amps) are both programmable when this option is selected.
J1772 Charging Station Active: This status reflects whether the BMS has enabled the J1772 charging station to begin charging (all J1772 negotiation has been completed successfully and the station should now be active). This option requires J1772 support to be enabled.
