This option allows the user to specify the function of the Multi-Purpose Input signal (pin 13 on the Main I/O harness).
Note: +12v must be applied to this line to activate it.
Available Functions:
Ignition Input: When this line is activated the BMS will treat it as a redundant keep-alive line (that is, it will not enter sleep as long as the Always-On line is energized). This can be useful in the event that the Ready Power (pin 2 on Main I/O harness) accidentally becomes disconnected or cut.
Clear Error Codes: When this line is activated the BMS will clear all pending Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
Alternate Charge Current Limit: When this line is activated the BMS will use the Alternate Charge Current Limit value for the maximum charging current when the Charge Power signal is active. This is useful if the application requires a different maximum charge current limit for the charger depending on what voltage the charger might be plugged into.
Alternate Minimum Cell Voltage: When this line is activated the BMS will use the Alternate Minimum Cell Voltage value (specified in the utility when this option is selected) for the minimum allowable cell voltage when the Multi-Purpose Input signal is INACTIVE (off). The Alternate Minimum Cell Voltage value must be higher than the actual Minimum Cell Voltage value programmed in to the BMS. Once the Multi-Purpose Input signal is raised high (ON) then the BMS will revert to enforcing the actual Minimum Cell Voltage value. This can be useful if the operator wants to momentarily allow the pack to be discharged further than normal under certain circumstances.
